Discovering your uniques, God-given SHAPE

Last Wednesday we looked at the first piece of how God has uniquely shaped us for His purposes in the world. The table times included lively reflections on what we believe our spiritual gifts to be and what other people see in us. I’d like to give you a few more thoughts to ponder.
What difference do spiritual gifts make? One of the most eye opening things for me in discovering some of my gifts was to know what my gifts were not and how important everyone else is. I am not meant to be all and do all. It is one Body but many parts. And when I am tempted to try to force my agenda and wonder why other people don’t get it, I have to stop and ask, “How is their gift speaking into this in a way that I need to pay attention to?”
It is important to have other people speak into your life regarding your gifts – we have an amazing ability to not see what God has put in us, or to only focus on certain things. It is also important to let this be the beginning of the conversation and not the end. There are still things God wants to reveal in you and these gifts are not the final word.
Pray and ask God to reveal to you all He has for you so that you can walk more fully in all you are meant to be and do. Ask Him what He wants you to do with whatever gifts He has given you and to grow you in your understanding and use of them.
