Updates

As the date for beginning the new church approaches a lot of the necessary tasks are coming into sharp focus. Here's a peek at what happening on our to-do list.

Gardening Feb 25th 10 AM
Cathy Stevens is leading a group of enthusiastic gardeners in our communities to work on the grounds. This is the perfect time for pruning, in preparation for the new growth that Spring brings. Come to Westminster at 10 AM on Feb 25th and play in the dirt. Everyone's invited.

Church Rummage Sale (New Date!)
March 25th 9 AM
An old fashioned title for an old fashioned sale of some old fashioned stuff. Everything in the church that is not staying permanently must go.

Kitchen/Hospitality
Christine Halfon is leading a kitchen/hospitality team, and will initiate calls to Hobart and a plumber for some needed repairs to the Westminster kitchen. Give her a call, if you'd like to be a part of this team. (call CATC 285-2282 and leave your name).

New Finance Team
A new Finance team met. Jan Supler (chair), Ryan Hamilton, Daniel Uhm, Doug Wittinger, Diana Thompson and Aaron Christopherson were in attendance. Erika Fox had a conflict, but she sent in extensive notes on my to do list for this group. This committee of session began their work to bring together the finances and budgets of the new church. Great group. KC Watkins went over the legal process of bringing the two churches into one.

Staffing
The Personal committee met at CATC. I presented an initial staffing proposal to them.

Congregational Meeting March 5th after the 2nd service at CATC.
The Mission Design Team plans to roll out their Mission Design to the congregation after the 2nd service March 5th. We will have a sandwich Sunday. We will also look at the proposed staffing needs some preliminary budget design. (We will also meet officially to discuss changes in the terms of call for the pastors of CATC--basically an annual cost of living raise for the ordained staff--Mike and James)

The Design Group
I am beginning to gather this group. I have a list of folks I will be contacting in the next few days. If anyone wishes to be on this team, again, contact CATC office--285-2282.

Room Assignments
Last Monday, I presented to the staff the room assignments recommended by the Move In Team. We walked through Westminster and talked it through. So far, the staff is on board with the plan with a few adjustments. I hear that Julie is still working with Children's committee over finalizing the children's classroom assigmnents.

That's enough for now.

Grace and peace,

James
