A Message from James and Heather
Dear Friends,
A warm thank you for the warm welcome home on Sunday morning. It was a pleasure to be back and worship with our family here at CHP. The trip to our Area Development Project (ADP) in Tanzania was transformation. We have both experienced a deepened sense of call to pray for the nations and the growth of God’s kingdom in the world. And we return to Seattle with a passionate hope for the way that our partnership through World Vision, will transform us and the Kisongo community as we prayerfully address issues related to poverty and HIV/AIDS.
During our time in Africa, we saw people who were hungry, people who were thirsty, people who were tired, and people who were weak. We also met people who were all these things, and yet still filled with a bright light and the hope that the God they worship would bring them all they need each day. The Holy Spirit is God’s great gift that fills our dry souls and provides the living water that bubbles up within us. Even when our lives are filled with hardship and struggle, the Holy Spirit within us brings peace, joy, and hope to face each day.
John 7:37-39

John 7:37-39
On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
How are you experiencing the joy, peace, and hope of the Spirit today?
Are you feeling more dry and dusty than refreshed? Take some time to hold your life before God and ask him to show you where you need to confess, pray, or rest in his love for you. Ask him what is standing in the way of the Holy Spirit’s life giving water in your life.
Is there someone in your life that shows the Holy Spirit daily in the bubbling joy and peace that flows through their life? Look for signs of the Spirit’s presence in others. Take a few minutes to give thanks to God for the ways you are able to see him at work in the lives of those around you.
In His Grip,
Heather & James
